Women's Philanthropy

Leading Community and Inspiring Change

Women philanthropists are the change-makers and community-shapers of the world. We are sisters and daughters, mothers and friends, compassionate and committed women at every stage of life and career.

The Jewish Federation’s Women’s Philanthropy engages Jewish women in the fulfilling work of making the world a better place. We connect women through friendship, learning, and the Jewish values of Tikkun olam (repairing the world) and tzedakah (charity). We are building and supporting Jewish life for today and for generations to come.

The Jewish Federation inspires and empowers women to become leaders and decision-makers. Our collective philanthropy enriches our own lives while improving the lives of others.

Giving Circle

Looking for an opportunity to be a part of something bigger? Join our Women's Philanthropy Giving Circle - a charitable, grassroots group of women determined to make a difference by combining many donations to make a huge impact on the South Jersey community. Members of our Giving Circle decide together where to allocate their collective donations, creating empowered philanthropists and innovative givers.

Lion of Judah
Lions of Judah are strong women of all ages, an international sisterhood of thousands of global activists who care deeply about the Jewish future. They play a vital role in creating social justice, aiding the vulnerable, preserving human dignity, and building Jewish identity.

The Lion of Judah symbolizes strength, honor, and dedication for the Tribe of Judah, the dominant tribe of the Twelve Tribes of Israel, and it continues to reflect those values today. Women who are Lions of Judah are leading their peers through generosity, strength, and vision.

There are three ways for a woman to become a Lion of Judah, including:

  • Donating $5,000 or more to JFSNJ's JFund Annual Campaign solely in her name
  • Donating $5,000 or more to JFSNJ's JFund Annual Campaign as a household
  • Donating a combined total of at least $6,000 systemwide (to JFund and our family of agencies), with $1,000 or more to JFSNJ's JFund Annual Campaign specifially, either solely in her name or total as a household

Each year that a woman sustains or increases her gift, she is eligible to have a precious stone set into her pin.
