Financial Aid

The Jewish Federation of Southern NJ and the Jewish Community Foundation, Inc. offer financial aid and scholarships for early childhood education, overnight camp, and teen Israel experiences. 

 

Deadlines (unless otherwise noted):

  • November 15 for winter programs
  • February 28 for summer programs and early childhood programs

Teen Israel or Leadership Programs

This fund is for scholarship of demonstrably financially needy teens in grades 9 - 12 to attend an organized teen Israel experience for three weeks or more, sponsored by a recognized Jewish and/or Zionist organization. 

 

Funded by the DJE's annual allocation from the Jewish Federation's JFund.

Jewish Overnight Camp

This fund is for scholarship of demonstrably financially needy children of all ages to attend a Jewish overnight camp. Camps must be sponsored by a recognized Jewish organization and provide Jewish and/or Zionist content as part of their programming. 

 

Funded by the DJE's annual allocation from the Jewish Federation's JFund.

BJBI Youth Fund

This fund is for scholarship of demonstrably financially needy children and teens to attend a USCJ-sponsored camp or Israel program. Preference is given to children of families who are associated with Beth Jacob Beth Israel synagogue.

 

Funded by the BJBI Endowment Fund of the Jewish Community Foundation, Inc.

Early Childhood

Deadline: February 28

In partnership with local early childhood centers and the Raymond & Gertrude R. Saltzman Foundation, financially needy families can apply for up to 50 percent off tuition assistance. Families must be registered in a Jewish early childhood program to apply. 

BJBI Excellence in Education

Deadline: Rolling

This fund is for scholarship and subsidy of Jewish teachers, administrators, and other professionals involved in Jewish education in our community to participate in professional development and training over and above the regular in-service offerings of their schools and the annual DJE teacher workshops. 

Funded by the BJBI Edowment Fund of the Jewish Community Foundation, Inc. 

 

This fund is allocated in two ways:

  • As stipends based on a point system. To participate in this program, the school's contract with its teachers must include wording that continued learning is an expectation of the job. 
  • As a subsidy towards participation in international, national, or regional conferences or other intense or extended professional development in related fields.

Applications are completed online. No submissions will be accepted after the deadline (unless otherwise noted). All applications MUST be complete in order to be reviewed.
