Supportive Services Navigator

Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey 1301 Springdale Road, Cherry Hill NJ

This part-time position will work closely with area Jewish organizations to foster collaboration and resource sharing with an emphasis on Older Adult and Special Needs initiatives. This is a collaboration among key agencies in the Jewish community designed to link older adults and the special needs population, their family members, friends, and caregivers to community, state and national resources for supportive services.

 

The Jewish Federation and our family of agencies has many programs to assist these populations, yet we strive for more efficiencies, more services and more program to make Southern NJ a community where everyone feels welcome.  Working as part of a team, this person will:

 

  • Be the first line of contact via phone, emails, etc. with community members seeking information on supportive services related issues
  • Serve as a liaison to Federation and local Jewish agencies as well as local families seeking assistance and guidance with supportive services related issues
  • Advocate for inclusivity to all Jewish residents of Southern NJ.
  • Administer the Saltzman Foundation grant for the community, seek new grant opportunities
  • Staff and/or collaborate with appropriate committees of the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey to help create Inclusive community programming & services
  • Share resources & best practices
  • Collaborate with Jewish organizations to strengthen programming for these populations
  • Engage community partners in programming
  • Serve as a liaison to other Jewish Abilities Alliance (JAA) programs throughout the country and assist in implementing the JAA website
  • Increases the reach and impact of our programs, this includes serve as a liaison in the tri-county area to assist in promoting our services
  • Liaison to marketing to strategize and develop ways to best promote the continuum of services we offer through our various agencies
  • Be a key voice in identifying trends, opportunities, and areas of synergy

 

The candidate will have the following skills:

  • Knowledge of services for aging and special needs population
  • Informed on community resources, inclusion, as well as newer trends and model practices in Jewish education, services, events, and programs for these demographics 
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work with various people including volunteers, staff, families, and the community at large
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Commitment to work collaboratively
  • Skill in the use of personal computers, related software applications, and social media platforms
  • Knowledge of evaluation and/or reporting tools/matrix
  • Other as needed
