Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JFCS) is seeking an experienced and compassionate professional to join a well-established agency as the Director of Residential Services, to oversee the new residential program that is expected to be completed by late fall 2019. Individual must have extensive experience in developing and managing residential services for individuals with disabilities and knowledge working with the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities. The position will begin part time from July – September with anticipated full-time employment beginning October 2019.
Core Responsibilities:
  1. Develops and maintains policies and procedures for delivery of new residential program
  2. Hires and supervises staff for efficient and effective service delivery
  3. Maintains 24 hour “on call” coverage in cooperation with other management staff
  4. Coordinates the provision of service within the apartments and greater community, insuring that safe, structured and engaging services are provided to residents
  5. Develops and monitors reimbursement policies and procedures in accordance with DDD and Medicaid
  6. Develops, provides and monitors staff training programs
  7. Responsible for all Quality Assurance oversight for residential program
  8. Represents the Residential Program through communication with clients, families, staff, government agencies personnel and community members
  1. Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in related field, with 5 years’ managerial experience working with individuals with disabilities in a residential setting
  2. Knowledge of person-centered planning and community resources for individuals with disabilities
  3. Five years of administrative and management experience, including program development, financial oversight, quality assurance and staff development
  4. Ability to interact and communicate with clients, families, staff, colleagues and community members in a compassionate, understanding and professional manner
  5. Ability to handle pressure in a crisis and demonstrate good judgement, flexibility and problem- solving skills
This position is full-time beginning in October 2019, but willing to negotiate an earlier full time start date for the right person.
