A Conservative synagogue of more than 850 families founded in 1920, Beth El features an active Habonim (empty nesters), Men's Club, Sisterhood, and Young Family Group. Colel, our adult education, offers a full range of classes, lectures, and special programming.
Every week following Shabbat services, Beth Elhas a beautiful congregational luncheon Kiddush. Every month Beth El hosts "Let's Do Shabbat at Beth El", a multigenerational service followed by a home cooked, lively congregational dinner. Each third Friday at 8:00 pm is our "Singles Service," attracting participants of all ages for services followed by an oneg.
Religious School is offered for students beginning in Gan (kindergarten) through Confirmation (grade 10). Junior Congregation for children in grades 2-6 is held every Shabbat (Saturday) morning from 10:15 am - 12:00 pm. There is also family-oriented programming with Shabbat Spot (Shabbat morning babysitting, snacks, and service for young children and their families) being offered every week. The Religious School sponsors Project Lev, which enables children with special needs to participate in a positive Jewish learning experience.
Our Early Childhood Center invites families to join in the year-round programs for young children, 6 weeks through five years. We offer a full day child care, preschool, and kindergarten programs; extended care and kindergarten enrichment programs, as well as a summer day camp program and a Children's Library. The Early Childhood Center is open from 6:45 am - 6:00 pm.
Beth El's Youth Department offers a variety of activities, programs, and initiatives to ensure that the youth at our synagogue have a social outlet. Our goal is to provide informal experiential learning through fun, innovative, and social activities for all ages.
Beth El has a beautiful sanctuary, a newly renovated auditorium, chapels, classrooms, gymnasium, and an award-winning library offering library discussion groups. Facilities are available for weddings, B'nai Mitzvah ceremonies, and parties. The synagogue is Kashrut-observant and is served by four semi-exclusive caterers.
Shabbat services are held at 9:00 am. The morning minyan meets at 7:15 am on Mondays and Thursdays; 7:30 am on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; and 9:00 am on Sundays. Afternoon and evening minyans are held at sundown.
