Advocacy & Community Engagement

The Jewish Federation is committed to engaging the community, creating lasting and meaningful relationships, and strengthening Jewish identity. It is also our duty to advocate on both a local and global level to build a better tomorrow. We foster constructive relationships within the Jewish community and among people of all faiths and cultures regarding Jewish- and Israel-oriented issues.

Stories from the Heart

“Not only was this a fabulous experience, but it was inspiring to see so many young minds really access a few major themes of Holocaust education: the value of lives and the power of words. The play, Dear Esther, sparked awareness and interest in our entire school! What you did for us was something special and meaningful.” – Ms. Jennifer W., teacher at Williamstown High School

“For years I hid behind my memories, but now I know that no matter how painful it may be, I must speak for my husband, my family, and the millions of others who can no longer speak for themselves.” – Helene Bouton, Holocaust survivor

“We want to let you know how grateful we are to receive assistance from the JCC for Pre-School and Summer Camp. Our daughter is so excited to be at the JCC now and cannot wait for summer to begin. It is an immense load off our shoulders. We can’t say thank you enough for the relief you have provided us after the trying and difficult year we had. Just another reason we think the JCC is so wonderful.” – Katz JCC family

“Every time I attend a local JCRC Israel Advocacy Initiative program, I feel like I am adding a tool to my tool belt in how to be a better advocate for Israel.” – JCRC Patron member
